Frequently asked questions
How do I calculate hours worked?
Enter your start and end times and add any unpaid breaks. The calculator subtracts the break time and automatically shows your total hours worked.
How do I calculate work hours with a lunch break?
Enter your start and end times, then add the length of your unpaid lunch break in the Break field. The calculator automatically deducts the break from your total hours worked.
How is overtime calculated?
You choose the overtime rules that apply to you. Set a daily overtime threshold, a weekly overtime threshold, or both. Hours above those limits are automatically counted as overtime. Overtime rules vary, so check which rules apply to your situation.
Can I calculate pay from my hours?
Yes. Enter an hourly rate and, if needed, an overtime premium. The calculator shows estimated regular pay, overtime pay and total gross pay. The hourly rate is currency-neutral, so simply enter the rate you use. Pay estimates are before taxes and other deductions.
Can I add multiple days and weeks?
Yes. Add as many workdays as you need and organize them into separate weeks. The calculator keeps track of your hours and totals for each week.
Can I print my time card?
Yes. Use the Print button to create a clean, printable time card with your work hours, overtime and totals. If you enter an hourly rate, your estimated pay is included too.
Can I use this as a biweekly time card calculator?
Yes. The calculator is designed for flexible reporting periods. Add the days and weeks you need, including a two-week pay period, then calculate your totals and print the completed time card.
